Ever since I've been able to hold a pencil I have been drawing. After my short stint as a ballerina in my childhood, I decided that drawing was a greater passion, and a better way to make the many stories within my mind become tangible. My imagination begged to be shared with the world, and what better way to do so than to create it with my own two hands?
When I was moved from Austria at age of 11 to the Midwest state of Minnesota in the USA, I began to actively draw and try to become better, due to the language barrier preventing me from being able to participate in classes properly. Teachers allowed me to draw unhindered, which definitely fed the spark to do art into a roaring fire. That fire has remained burning bright even after I mastered English enough to be able to partake in classes like everyone else. It took until the end of high school for me to decide that perhaps art could really be more than just a passion. Once I learned that Illustration was a thriving field, I knew that would be my calling. I went to Minneapolis College of Art and Design and completed my Illustration degree in May of 2013. |
